As a senior, Lily Iyer has advice for younger students, “Don’t forget to breathe… stop and be in the moment instead of being so sensitive.” Iyer shows compassion with the volunteer work she does.
She said, “Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out for a successful personality and duplicate it,” referring to a quote from martial artists Bruce Lee.
Iyer is currently taking three AP classes is secretary of Buena Red Cross club, and also participates in We Stop Hate club at Buena High School. She also is head of the community service committee in ASB and has a lot to offer to it. She spends her time outside of school volunteering at Hill Road library and Community Memorial Hospital. She has also made Renaissance every year and has also won 1st place art show in 2016 at Buena High School. And maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
In her free time, Iyer spends a lot of it with her friends and family but also enjoys painting, likes to play soccer outside of school for fun, and going to Six Flags.
After high school, Iyer plans on going straight to a four year university for her bachelors to major as a nurse and completing her BSN.
Senior Labiba Sardar, a friend of Iyer said, ‘‘I’ve known Lily since before preschool. We would go to Christmas parties and became really good friends.”
Senior Garrett Garces, who has been friends with Iyer four years, says his first impression of Iyer was “she is a very confident, yet relaxed person.”
