“How incredibly wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” Senior Daniel Perez chose this quote by Anne Frank to describe himself.
Perez is in four AP classes and plays boys volleyball at Buena High School. “In my free time I like to hang out with my friends and play volleyball,” Perez said.
As many seniors struggle with their plans for after high school, Perez is sure of what he wants to do. Perez explains with certainty, “Next year I plan to go to a four year and major in international relations or global studies in hopes to pursue a career in politics.”
Perez credits much of his success to Kelly Herrera, a Buena High School English teacher. “I want to thank Mrs. Herrera because she strengthened my writing and my confidence within my writing. I also would not ever have been able to get through college apps without her,” Perez explains.
Perez is the treasurer of the senior class committee in ASB and is always striving to make Buena a better place. Senior Carly Hansen, president of the senior class committee said, “Daniel is always a huge help in ASB and you can tell that he cares about what he is doing.”
Perez is also the president of the Red Cross Club, the vice president of Interact Club and is a member of MECHA and CSF.
Perez, one of the top-20 seniors in his class, has this advice to give to other students: “Honestly, enjoy all the time you have because high school goes by so fast. Continually challenge yourself throughout the process because the end results will surprise you.”
